Vamonos was designed with a “one stop” solution to a real estate app. keeping the user’s needs in mind, Vamonos offers the user the ability to sell, buy, and rent properties in different areas. The user is also able to sort through different filters in order to narrow down their searches to for the right property they are looking for.
Vamonos is meant for individuals who cannot physically view properties due to the difference in locations.
User Research was conducted in order to receive feedback from users in order to create personas. One of which was Ben is a 22 recent graduate who was recently offered a job in Anaheim. He currently lives in San Diego and needs to be able to find an apartment that fits his needs and which he can tour virtually.
How effective is the app for the user to find a property?
From what we learned of our users, I came up with new ideas represented in the Crazy 8’s approach. This helped to come up with new solutions to pain points
The wireframes were created with easy navigation in mind. it is important to be able to provide all the information needed for the user to make good decisions when it comes to finding the right property
Wireframes were put together into a functional and interactive prototype. Users were able to use the prototype use the app elements as a whole in order to discover any existing pain points and errors.
Our goal was to identify any struggles the user encountered through the accomplishing of the task. A remote and unmoderated usability study was conducted in June 4- June 9. Each session lasted 15-20 mins, including the test and interview questions. 5 users were tasked with navigating through the homepage and looking through listings to find and review the right property. All participants ranged from ages 20- 35 years old, with a balanced number of male, female, and non binary participants. We took notes as the participants made their way in completing the task looking through the listings
Based on the data we received, we found that;
1. Users complained about being able to add properties they like into some sort of list or favorites.
2. Users complained about not liking the “Book a tour option”
3. Need for being able to narrow search results within budget and needs
Colors, icons, and and logos were added to the design to create hi fidelity versions. the feedback from the usability study was implemented and the pain points were adjusted.
A functioning prototype was then created to simulate a live app with corrections made and pain points corrected, the hi fi prototype was then presented to stakeholders.
To ensure that accessibility was addressed, we included assisting features, such as audio recordings, hints, and easy visuals.
